Newsies was performed during my sophomore year of high school and I had the pleasure of playing Mrs. Medda Larkin and a newsie. The thrill of being able to tap dance with an entire cast was amazing. Not to mention being able to portray the incredible boisterous personality of Mrs. Medda. This was the second show I learned tap dancing for!

Medda is a big-voiced saloon singer and star of the Bowery who offers her theater as a safe haven for the newsies. An astute entertainer with great comic delivery, she’s a good friend to Jack and stands firmly behind the newsies in their fight for justice.
